1. What this policy covers

This policy explains how Giftopus collects, uses, and stores data when you use the mobile app.

2. Data we process

Depending on app usage, we may process:

• Account identifiers (for signed-in users).
• Device identifiers used for guest mode and data continuity.
• User profile fields you provide (name, birth date, gender).
• Gift set data, gift items, recipient selections, moderation reports.
• Push notification token to deliver notifications.
• Optional uploaded images for gift items.
• Analytics events used to improve app quality.

3. Why we use this data

• To provide core app functionality (create/share/open gift sets).
• To send service notifications (selection updates, reminders).
• To detect abuse and moderate reported content.
• To improve stability and product quality.

4. Data sharing

We do not sell personal data. We use infrastructure providers required to operate the app (for example backend hosting, notifications, and analytics).

5. Retention

We keep data while your account is active or as required to provide the service. You can request deletion in-app via Profile -> three dots -> Delete account.

6. Account and data deletion

You can delete your account directly in the app via Profile -> three dots -> Delete account. Deletion removes your account and associated profile data, and removes gift sets owned by your account.

7. Cookies and similar technologies (website)

On the giftopus.org website we use cookies and similar local storage in two ways:

• Strictly necessary — required for the site to work (your sign-in session, region/currency preference, basic anti-abuse, and the record of your cookie choice). These are always active and cannot be switched off.
• Analytics — Google Analytics (GA4) cookies that help us understand, in aggregate, how the site is used. These are optional.

Analytics cookies are only set with your consent. In the EU, EEA and the UK they stay off until you accept them. Elsewhere they are on by default and you can opt out at any time. You can change or withdraw your choice whenever you like via the “Cookie settings” link in the website footer.
